As usual, I will do my monthly status..


#6: Workout 3x per week – not super great, but logging 20 miles last week has GOT to count for something.

#34: Mani/Pedi – got one today!  Yippee!

#55: Monthly Performance Plan Updates – I have a whole new performance plan to contend with and tomorrow we put finishing touches on it

#57: Visit historical site – We went to a park in Round Rock last Saturday & it turned out to be the site of the actual round rock that the city was named after.  Brushy Creek was very, very low and you could see it clearly along with the wagon wheel impressions on the ground in the surrounding area.  I personally think this one is lame, so I am NOT marking it off the list.  However, it is considered a historical marker!

#97: Massage – scheduled one from the Austin School of Massage, so it will be a student giving it… but for $25 you get a 90 minute massage, just cannot pass it up!  I have it scheduled for Sunday, May 18th!

#102: Netflix Flick once a week – I watched Juno which I really, really loved and Jeff and I watched Best Men.  Best Men is an older flick, but it was still funny!

#2: Attend Church 2x per week – I am gonna fry in hell

#19: Date Night – Jeff and I just don’t like being alone together, what would we talk about?  Have you met my husband?  KIDDING, sorta….

#99: Wear something other than jeans once a week – uh, no…. unless you count shorts or workout gear for running…..

#11: New recipe – the only possible day to make this work is Wednesday night, unless I try to bake goodies I have not before…. hum, inneresting….

# 37: Donate Blood once a quarter – had to reschedule bc my meeting ran over…. so rescheduled for Friday, May 9th

#38/39: Spring Cleaning/Goodwill – I have till the end of May to complete this one, I think we should be good…. I already have a pile

#44: Read Book every other month – More than likely, I will not be finished with the last of the Left Behind series book till the end of the week (early May).  Hence, I can count it in May, right?  hahahahahhaha

#51/52: Clean out Fridge and Pantry – Another one that needs to be completed by the end of May.

#83: Boating once a week starting in May – yikes!  I was DREADING this one…… here it comes, May!  I must head out on the boat once a week….


I did it!  I ran a 10k!  I honestly cannot believe I did it….

I signed myself up for the Texas Round-Up.  Last year I ran the 5k version of this race with Sophie (while Mills ran the 10k) & didn’t do as well as I would have liked.  This year, I decided what the heck… let’s go all out.  As we Coxes like to say – go big or go home….. so, I register for the 10k.  Yes, that’s 6.2 miles!  Geez!

So, I worked on my fitness all week.  Snicker all you want, but working out all week is hard for me.  I ran Sunday – Wednesday and then again on Friday.  Including the 10k on Saturday, I logged 20 miles.  Yikes!

On Friday, I have a team offsite and have a drink and eat Rudy’s.  All good stuff for a race, right?  There is also a downpour the night before, sleeping is for wimps!  I get up about 6:15am on Saturday to get there before 7:30am as I need to find a spot to park downtown as well as pick up my packet.  Both were WAY easier than I thought they would be.  As I am walking back from my car with bib and headphones, I press power on my borrowed mp3 player.  The ipod i normally use refused to charge, so I am stuck with this thing…..that’s another story….  Anyway, pressing the power it promptly tells me I do not have enough and will shut down.  For the record, I have the WORST luck when it comes to races and mp3 players.  The NEVER seem to work!  I mean, I don’t even know the last time I got to run with music….but 6 miles with NADA!  I was PISSED!  Alas, this was not going to stop me.  I mean I did spend money to torture myself, might as well get all the money’s worth.  Stop Laughing!

Anyhoo, the first mile I normally want to poke my eyes out & funny enough this mile wasn’t a big deal at all.  Probably bc I was concentrating too hard on getting around everyone, there were about 800 people for both races.  2nd mile, it kicks in.. WHY?!  Jesus, it’s a hill!  Lo and behold, 3rd and 4th miles were mostly downhill.  5th mile I am thinking… wow, this is the most I have run in one instance & dammit, there’s ANOTHER hill!  6th mile I can no longer feel my legs and this makes it easier…. there are TWO hills with this one, but the last quarter of the mile was all down hill, so I got to “power” in.  I cross the finish at 1:03:18 which comes to 10:11 minute miles. 

So, I didn’t meet my stretch goal of an hr or less, but I did meet my no walking goal.  Overall, I would do another 10k.  I think I do better at longer distances or maybe the distance running makes me crazy (ier)…. whatev….

I have been doing research for years now on laser hair removal and I think I am finally ready to at least get a consultation.  I found a group of Drs that do numerous things that I am interested in and many of those happen to be on my list (noted below).  The place I am gonna try out is called Westlake Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery Center.  I figure they offer so many unique services that I am currently or could be potentially interested in that – WHY NOT?!  I would rather pay more money and have certified doctors doing the job, so this seems the best fit and the least shady.  Forunately, they have 2 very convenient locations very near to my home and work, so this should be a breeze…..I plan to call in tomorrow to make an all afternoon consultation appt to hit up every one of these things listed below! 


3 – laser hair removal: Consultation set for Tuesday, Apr 29th. Prices are crazy expensive & more than likely I will NOT be able to do this until after kiddo numero dos.  Well, I went ahead and purchased 6 sessions each of brazilian and underarm packages…. yea, I know!

16 – Spider vein removal (Sclerotherapy): Another one that is kinda pricey and prolly best done after #2 arrives since that kiddo will prolly add additional veins….

88 – microdermabrasion (although they call it Vibraderm): scheduling a consultation for recommendations as there are several options to choose from

89 – Facial: I think I’ll just get this one at a cheapo “spa”

116 – get moles checked out: scheduled a derm visit at this place.  I did and had a mole on the back of my right knee removed.  It’s being sent for a biopsy, so here’s to it being nothing…..

I did this today!  Muster is April 21st and the Dell Ags are putting a luncheon together that I plan to attend….  it feels good to start “being” an Ag again.

We watched Gone Baby Gone on Friday night.  It was an extremely hard movie to watch and really, really made you emotionally and mentally drained, esp if you have children.  I personally enjoy movies that make you think like this and it stirred some interesting conversations, emotions, and opinions btw Jeff and I… I figured if a movie can do that with us, then it has GOT to be worth it…  🙂

This past Saturday I took a course from the American Red Cross for Adult, Child, and Infant CPR as well as basic first aid.  I passed all the tests and am certified for 3 yrs in First Aid, but only 1 year for CPR. 

It was a painful, tiring experience and I cannot honestly say that I learned allot.  It all started at 8am and we didn’t get out of there until 3:30 & I was the first to complete the series of tests!  the instructor gave me the heebie geebies and was a type of person who just tried to hard (if ya know what I mean).  I had to go to east Austin and we know what that neighborhood is like….

Anyhoo, I wouldn’t personally recommend doing this and I prolly will not be doing it again.  For the record, this was my 2nd time thru the course.  I took it back in college my senior yr as I was an after school kids’ counselor & it was a requirement.

At least I can mark another one off the list…..  😛
